2022 WILL BE A FESTIVE AND UNIFYING YEAR FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAINT-GEORGES-DE-CLARENCEVILLE

Saint-Georges-de-Clarenceville, May 10, 2022 - The year 1822 is a historic year as it marks the birth of the Parish of Saint-Georges-de-Clarenceville and at the same time the birth of our community, already 200 years ago!

As for our Municipality, it was erected by virtue of Act 8 Victoria, chapter 40, on July 1, 1845 under the name of Clarenceville.

Saint-Georges-de-Clarenceville will celebrate the 200th anniversary of its community through various activities and more particularly, the Clarfest which will be back from
August 19 to 21, 2022, as it is without a doubt the most popular event in our small municipality! For some citizens, it will be an opportunity to reminisce about the past and for new residents to discover their community.

For the occasion, the Municipality will have a special logo for the 200th as well as a logo for the Clarfest which will definitely have its own visual identity.

The program of the 200th anniversary festivities, celebrated through Clarfest will be varied and for all ages in order to meet the expectations of the citizens. This convivial celebration under the theme of the 200th will contribute to reinforcing the feeling of belonging of all residents who should be quite numerous to celebrate this 200th. What could be better after these long months of pandemic than to get together during a festive event!

In order to honour our beautiful Municipality and to underline this anniversary, various actors will be solicited such as the municipal team, volunteers, community organizations, the municipal council and anyone who wishes to lend a hand from near or far. Thank you in advance to these people for their involvement in making the festivities a success.

Stay tuned, because in order for everyone to be informed as it should be, communiqués will be published on the clarenceville.qc.ca website and on the Facebook pages facebook/Saint-Georges de Clarenceville and facebook/Loisirs, culture et vie communautaire - Saint-Georges-de-Clarenceville.

The Municipality of Saint-Georges-de-Clarenceville is proud to celebrate this 200th anniversary and to offer a program of varied and unifying festivities to the citizens and to all those who will participate.
